BH/BA Awarded Two Design/Build Prison Projects - 08/03/2009

Buchart Horn, Inc./BASCO (BH/BA) has been selected to provide A/E services on two separate, but similar, design/build prison projects for the PA Department of General Services.

For the State Correctional Institution at Coal Township, Northumberland County, PA BH/BA is working with Wohlsen Construction, of Lancaster, PA, on the new 128-Cell, L-3 Close Security Housing Units. BH/BA is responsible for the design of the two-story facility, including sustainable design initiatives sufficient to satisfy LEED® certification of the completed facility. BH/BA is also coordinating engineering design and construction documents; preparation and update of project schedules, project progress reports as well as assisting the client with state, county, and local permitting processes.

For the State Correctional Institution at Pine Grove, Indiana Co., we are working with G.M. McCrossin, Inc. of Bellefonte, PA and providing similar services for the new 128-Cell, L-3 facility there.
