Project Engineer/Manager

Description of Duties:

Professional Engineer/project manager in charge of a broad range of projects including:

  • Site investigations, project scoping, report generation and surveying.
  • Evaluation of design alternatives.
  • Site development design - site grading and lot layout within Zoning requirements.
  • Highway and roadway design.
  • Bridge design.
  • Buildings and facilities or other type of infrastructure structural design.
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, drainage and stormwater improvements modeling and design.
  • Water distribution & wastewater collection and treatment design.
  • Water & wastewater pumping station design and upgrades, infiltration/inflow studies, capacity studies and system upgrades.
  • Perform design calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Prepare design plans/specifications and secure permits from regulatory agencies.
  • Aid in construction administration.
  • Construction cost estimating.
  • Project cost tracking, cost forecasting and reporting.
  • Some travel required.

Requirements:

Candidate(s) with the best combination of education, experience and certifications in the following:
  • Team player, with good interpersonal skills and strong work ethic.
  • Willing to work with other offices and professionals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • BS and/or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • 4 years related experience, minimum.
  • Local State PE license (required within 12 months of eligibility and/or hiring date).
  • Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD.
  • MicroStation, Geopak.
  • Stormwater master planning and modeling software (AdlCPR is a plus).
  • Some travel required.

Senior Structural Engineer

Description of Duties:

  • Structural design for water and wastewater, including new buildings, new tank structures, and renovation of existing structures.
  • Structural design and renovations for buildings and facilities, including municipal buildings, schools, and commercial low-rise and high-rise structures.
  • Parking structure design and renovations.
  • Structural assessments of existing structures, such as buildings, tanks, and parking garages.
  • Preparation of project specifications.
  • Construction administration, including shop drawing review, responding to contractor requests for information, and observation of construction progress.
  • Performance of internal technical peer review of structural drawings and design calculations.

Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer, licensed in MD and/or PA.
  • BS and/or Masters Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering.
  • 8 to 12 years of related experience.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and initiative to accomplish goals.
  • STAAD experience helpful.
